Spinal Cord Injury: Understanding and Managing Autonomic Dysreflexia

This course focuses on providing instruction on Autonomic Dysreflexia management in the acute inpatient rehabilitation setting. Autonomic Dysreflexia is a life threating condition that must be quickly identified, treated, and educated on for the spinal cord injury patient population. Clinician understanding and competence in treating Autonomic Dysreflexia is essential in providing care to spinal cord injury patients. Autonomic Dysreflexia care requires adherence to clinical guidelines in many disciplines who practice in the rehab setting including Nursing, Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy, and Speech Therapy.
