Interdisciplinary collaboration is characterized by multiple departments working collectively to drive shared-decision for the betterment of the patient. Previous literature has demonstrated that interdisciplinary collaboration can decrease adverse healthcare events. At Cleveland Clinic Rehabilitation Hospital, our teams have made progress in the areas of quality, employee retention and patient satisfaction through a focus on interdisciplinary collaboration. Our hospital department leads possess a high level of accountability which is evident in the daily communication systems utilized to promote focus on key quality metrics. Through this presentation, we will outline interdisciplinary practices that were deployed to increase quality outcomes and employee satisfaction.
