Michaela Hollis, MPH, CPH is a Vice President at CRD Associates with experience in federal advocacy and a strong focus on health policy. Michaela works with ARN to accomplish the association's legislative and regulatory priorities related to rehabilitation nursing.  She works with variety of organizations, including provider specialty organizations and medical research societies, and has extensive knowledge in Medicare reimbursement, medical education and training programs, and biomedical research policy. Michaela’s work primarily focuses on analyzing legislative and regulatory issues, and engaging with policymakers on Capitol Hill and across the Department of Health and Human Services. Prior to joining CRD, Michaela was a Certified Nursing Assistant with clinical experience in hospital and outpatient settings, providing hands-on care for patients of all ages and diagnoses. Michaela received her BS in Family and Child Sciences from the Florida State University and her MPH from the George Washington University.

 

Yvette M. Salas, MSN, CRRN, serves as the Infection Preventionist and past Hospital Educator at Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Miami. Mrs. Salas has been employed at Encompass Health since 2016. She has more than 28 years of nursing experience. She started her nursing career with an Associate of Science in Nursing from a community college in Pennsylvania. She continued her education at Chamberlain University earning a BSN in 2018 and a Master’s Degree in Health Care Policy in 2020.  Mrs. Salas serves as the Southeast Regional Infection Prevention resource for Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospitals.  During her appointment, she has assisted new ICPs to acclimate to the role of Infection Prevention and works to improve infection control practices. Mrs. Salas is a passionate rehab nurse and strives to improve the work-life balance of nursing professionals through policy and advocacy. She serves as a Parish nurse in her South Florida community and works with local leaders to improve access to health care. Mrs. Salas is an active member of ARN, she serves as President Elect for her state ARN board, Serves as A Chapter Support Committee member and is chair of the ARN Policy Committee.
