This program includes a video that was recorded on a previous date. The recording is about 30 minutes in length. You will need to watch the recording, receive a 70% or higher passing grade on a quiz, and then complete an evaluation to receive your certificate and complete this course. The rehabilitation nurse must possess the knowledge and skills to effectively care for people with pain. This program will walk you through the various types of pain, etiology, and pathophysiology of pain, along with the nursing role in pain management so you can thoroughly assess your rehabilitation patients for pain and develop effective, patient-specific interventions.

Presenter: Margi Williams, PhD, RN, MSN, CRRN, FNP-BC, FABDA, FARN Margi Williams PhD, RN, MSN, CRRN, FNP-BC, FABDA is a clinical nurse on the acute pediatric Comprehensive Inpatient Rehabilitation Unit at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta, GA. She is an early childhood intervention researcher and inventor of a therapy device. In addition, she is a Nurse Practitioner working with adults with developmental disabilities and mental health disorders in the group home community setting. Her interests include early childhood intervention, working with patients with cognitive and neurologic disorders, patient/family education for those with literacy challenges and transitioning from pediatric to adult care. She has been a rehab nurse for over 35 years and an active ARN member for over 30 years. She has given numerous conference presentations and authored several publications, including rehabilitation nursing guidelines.
