This course will provide the training you need to effectively care for your patients with Neurological Diseases. The course addresses a variety of neurological symptoms and conditions including Multiple Sclerosis, Guillain-Barre Syndrome, Parkinson's Disease, and Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS).

- Differentiate among pathological process of MS, ALS, PD, and GBS
- Describe current approaches to medical management of patients with these disorders
- Discuss nursing management and education for patients and families experiencing these disorders
Sally Strong is the Clinical Nurse Specialist at Marianjoy Rehabilitation Hospital in Wheaton, IL. She holds certifications in Neuroscience and Rehabilitation Nursing. During a career that has spanned more than 35 years Ms. Strong has cared for patients with a variety of neuroscience disorders in the acute care, intensive care, inpatient rehabilitation and outpatient settings. She has lectured extensively at the local, state and national levels on topics related to neuroscience and rehabilitation nursing. She is the author of multiple articles published in peer reviewed journals as well as chapters in 5 nursing textbooks. She has served on several national level committees and task forces for both the American Association of Neuroscience Nurses and the Association of Rehabilitation Nurses.
